In her capacity as a Board Member, Lindsey S. Mignano organized a panel for Stanford Alumni Association Women's Impact Network to celebrate Filipino American History Month. Panelists included Angelica Zabanal, Associate at Duane Morris LLP, Christine Cordero, Co-Director of Asian Pacific Environmental Network, Kuusela Hilo, Director of Organizing at United Nurses Associations of California/Union of Health Care Professionals (UNAC/UHCP), and Hon. Ray Buenaventura, Attorney and Vice-Mayor of Daly City.
Kelly Lawton-Abbott joined John Flemming of CIBC, Cameron Borumand of Fuse, and Owen Carton of Now CFO and discussed the current state of the industry. Panelists covered topics such as market updates, seed funding, the different sources of capital from the earliest stage of funding, Series Seed and Regulation A+.
Teela Smith, Cesilia Fernandez, Deputy Public Defender of Santa Clara County, and Mark Punzalan of Chan + Punzalan presented "Incompetent or Imposter" for the Bar Association of San Francisco's 2022 Barristers Litigation Summit. They discussed their experiences overcoming Imposter Syndrome, how the Imposter Syndrome affects an attorney’s ability to ethically represent clients, and how to communicate effectively with supervising attorneys, staff, clients, and the Court despite feeling like an imposter.
Jason Crain and Lita Abella of the State Bar of California presented "Pivoting Past the Pandemic: Work Life Balance for Legal Professionals" and discussed how attorney substance use and mental health issues can lead to detrimental and/or deadly consequences and develop a self-care plan and wellness strategies during these challenging times. The legal profession has always been challenging for parents and caregivers, and the COVID-19 pandemic both exacerbated those challenges while also creating new opportunities. Legal employers across the industry -- from small firms to large firms to corporations and government -- now have a unique opportunity to rethink the way that they structure recruitment and retention policies to maximize the talent and diversity in their workforce. Neda Shapourian presented on a panel entitled "Recruiting and Retaining Parent & Caregiver Talent in a Post-Pandemic Legal Industry" for the Bar Association of San Francisco's Diversity & Inclusion Committee of the Barristers Club with three other parent-lawyers.
Lindsey S. Mignano presented for students of UC Hastings, her alma mater, as to corporate and transactional practices. She was interviewed by the Professional Development Office of UC Hastings regarding how she became a corporate lawyer, how she started her law firm with co-founders Teela C. Smith and Neda Shapourian, and what she wished she knew when she was a law student at UC Hastings.
Lindsey S. Mignano and Jason D. Crain presented "Flips and Financing: Flipping your Company and Venture Financing Trends in H2 2022" for Founders Embassy at Mindspace. They discussed how foreign founders can flip their companies for venture financing or create subsidiaries for expansion purposes, and host a subsequent happy hour for the accelerator cohort.
Lindsey Mignano, Vivek Gutheti of CFO Plans, Danielle Delancey of Wilmot Ventures and Xiaoming Yin of Lockheed Martin Ventures presented a panel at the "Founders Live San Francisco Startup Competition", discussing best tips to deploy services and products.
