Teela Smith and Mark Gabel of Workplace Legal, APC presented a panel entitled "Executive Compensation: Important Considerations from the Employer’s and Employee’s Perspectives" for the Bar Association of San Francisco. They discussed some of the many different types of equity compensation plans for high-level employees; how executives’ compensation can be affected by the particular structure of the business; special considerations regarding executives’ pay under California labor law; and important considerations when there is a termination of employment, whether by voluntary or involuntary means. Barristers Solo and Small Firm Section Chain, Emily McGrath of Lawless, Lawless, & McGrath, moderated the panel.
Lindsey S. Mignano moderated a panel entitled "Ethical Obligations in Delegation and Management of Work to Junior Associates, Paralegals, and Staff" for the Bar Association of San Francisco. This panel, comprised of law firm leaders Staci Dresher of Dresher Consulting and Investigations and Terrance Evans of Duane Morris, and ethics attorney and managing partner Thomas D'Amato of D'Amato Law, discussed how to best execute the requisite ethical obligations when making assignments, managing, and supervising the work product of others.
