It’s well-documented that attorneys have higher rates of depression, anxiety, and other mental health challenges than most professions. Yet it remains a difficult topic to talk openly about – perhaps due to a reluctance to admit we need help. Jason Crain, Julia Clayton of The Lawyers Depression Project, and Lita Abella of the California State Bar spoke on a Barristers Wellness Committee panel, discussing how law firms can move the needle on mental wellbeing in the legal profession, including how to improve law firm culture and the resources available to attorneys to find and maintain emotional wellbeing.
Kelly Lawton-Abbott presented a panel entitled "Intellectual Property Considerations for Commercial and Tech Contracts" for King County Bar Association. This was an important CLE for corporate lawyers looking to issue spot IP transactional concerns, or IP lawyers looking to learn about the latest developments in transactional IP work and tech transactions.
Lindsey S. Mignano and Sophie Alcorn of Alcorn Immigration Law discussed best practices for foreign founders to immigrate to the US, as well as how foreign founders can flip their companies for venture financing or create subsidiaries for expansion purposes.
