Courtney T. Chew serves as outside general counsel to early-stage startups across a variety of industries and business models (B2B, B2B2C, SaaS/PaaS). Her practice focuses primarily on commercial contracts, technology transactions, privacy and data security, artificial intelligence, emerging companies and venture capital ("ECVC"), mergers and acquisitions ("M&A"), and general corporate matters. She provides strategic legal advice and regulatory compliance to help businesses navigate complex and novel legal challenges. Courtney is committed to helping clients protect their intellectual property, manage risks, and build strong legal foundations for scale and growth.
Before joining SSM, Courtney worked for an international Silicon Valley law firm where she worked with high growth technology and biotechnology startups. She provided legal advice as to ECVC, M&A, and public company matters. Outside of work, she is always searching for the Bay’s best bites and boba to share with her family and friends, or taking long walks on the beach with her French Bulldog, Sumo. EDUCATION
