Kelly Lawton-Abbott represents clients in the tech industry as outside general counsel. Kelly has an entrepreneurial spirit and business mindset that she incorporates in her legal strategies. Kelly works with clients on formations, corporate governance and compliance, note and venture financing, employment, commercial and tech transactions, intellectual property, and privacy compliance.
Kelly has been recognized as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers every year since 2020, an honor awarded to only 2.5% of attorneys under the age of 40. Before joining SSM, Kelly worked for a Seattle-based boutique law firm where she worked with clients in the media and gaming industry, working with solo entrepreneurs to Fortune 500 companies. Kelly was born and raised in Southern California, but resides and supports clients in the beautiful Pacific Northwest with her husband and two dogs. When Kelly isn’t working, she loves going for walks with her dogs, exploring art, and escaping to the mountains for weekend getaway. EDUCATION
