The Office of the Treasurer & Tax Collector in the City and County of San Francisco have extended Business Tax and Fee Deadlines. The message from the San Francisco Tax Collector, which should have been delivered to San Francisco businesses by email on January 26, 2021, is copied and pasted below for your convenience in case you missed it. *** We recognize how challenging it can be to operate a business during the COVID-19 pandemic. The City wants to communicate with you as quickly as possible as health orders change. Please take a few minutes today to let us know your business has closed, or designate a COVID-19 Worksite Safety Monitor to receive updates by visiting http://www.sftreasurer.org/business-account-update You will need your 7-digit business account number and PIN to make updates. Given the pandemic’s continued impact on businesses, Mayor Breed and the Board of Supervisors have further extended the deadlines of certain business taxes and fees. The following deadline extensions have recently been approved. We will send you reminders to file before these deadlines approach:
2020-21 Business Registration Fee The 2020-21 business registration fee, which was originally due on June 1, 2020 will now be due on April 30, 2021. Existing business registration certificates for the registration year ending June 30, 2020 will continue to be valid through April 30, 2021. Annual Business Taxes Annual Business Taxes for the 2020 calendar year, which were originally due on March 1, 2021 will now be due on April 30, 2021. Annual Business Taxes include the Gross Receipts Tax, Payroll Expense Tax, Administrative Office Tax, Commercial Rents Tax and Homelessness Gross Receipts Tax. Information on filing will be coming shortly. Regulatory License Fees Regulatory license fees for 2020-21, which were originally due on March 31, 2020, will now be due on November 1, 2021. The license fees for 2021-22 which were originally due on March 30, 2021 will also be due on November 1, 2021. License Fees include charges collected on behalf of the Department of Public Health, Fire Department, Police Department, Entertainment Commission, and the Office of Cannabis.
