Bay Area-based personal services providers such as hair and nail salons are allowed to work outside this week. [FN 1]. This comes as welcome news for personal services providers who have been otherwise prevented from working indoors in their salons for almost half a year in California.
Kron4 provided a helpful list for each Bay Area County in its August 31, 2020 post here, which is reproduced below for your convenience: "Alameda County: Purple Hair salons and barbershops can open outdoor with modifications. Nail salons can open outdoors only with modifications. Gyms can open outdoors only with modifications. Contra Costa County: Purple Hair salons and barbershops can open indoor with modifications. Nail salons can open outdoors only with modifications. Gyms can open outdoors only with modifications. Marin County: Purple Hair salons and barbershops can open indoor with modifications. Nail salons can open outdoors only with modifications. Gyms can open outdoors only with modifications. Napa County: Red Hair salons and barbershops can open indoor with modifications. Nail salons can open indoor with modifications. Gyms can open indoor with modifications. Santa Clara County: Purple Hair salons and barbershops can open indoor with modifications. Nail salons can open outdoors only with modifications. Gyms can open outdoors only with modifications. San Mateo County: Purple Hair salons and barbershops can open indoor with modifications.
